Wa-Iro

Japanese Bakery & Café

Our Story

Wa, harmony.
Iro, color.

Our name brings together two Japanese words: Wa, meaning harmony and connection, and Iro, meaning color.

Together, they reflect the many colors and flavors of Japanese culture — and the community we’re proud to be part of.

Wa-Iro is a place to slow down, share something freshly baked, and experience the warmth of Japanese hospitality.

A large sculptural croissant hanging beneath the WA-IRO blade sign on the storefront, against a clear blue sky.
A sugar-dusted bun with pale lemon curd easing from its side, whole lemons blurred behind it.
A golden salt-and-butter roll on dark walnut, flaked salt scattered around it.
A soft split roll filled with herb-flecked egg salad, whole eggs blurred behind it on dark walnut.
A bakery case seen down its length — thick-cut French toast, cinnamon rolls, cream buns, matcha melon pan, strawberry-topped danishes and marshmallow-topped pastries filling tray after tray.

Artisan Bread Collection

Handmade.
Baked Fresh.

Our dough begins with 100% Hokkaido flour from Japan, free from additives and preservatives. We take our time with every batch, using traditional methods and choosing high-quality Japanese ingredients wherever possible.

Our selection of breads and pastries brings together the familiar and the unexpected — from our savory Salt & Butter Roll and signature Curry Pan to our original Takoyaki Bread.

We don’t bake everything once in the morning. Fresh trays come out of the oven throughout the day, filling the case with breads made the way they should be: with good ingredients, time, freshness, and care.

Signature Drink Collection

Poured slow,
whisked by hand.

A café as much as a bakery. Matcha sifted and whisked by hand. Coffee carefully poured. Each cup made with the same patience and attention we bring to our bread.

From sea salt matcha cold brew and sakura strawberry latte to dirty black sesame latte, our signature drinks pair familiar flavors with a distinctly Japanese point of view.

Select specialty drinks feature Coffee by Maméya and premium matcha from Gion Tsujiri, Kyoto.
